

Vinon Lajohn Varnado, 57, of Aviano, Italy, passed away January 29, 2012. Vinon was born January 24, 1955, in Magnolia, Mississippi, to the late Roosevelt and Mattie Cotton Varnado. He was a retired Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force where he served his country for twenty years as a civil engineer.
He is survived by his wife, JoNell Crockett Varnado of Aviano, Italy; sons, Derrick Tate and his wife, Sabrina, of Germany and Vinon P. Varnado of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters, Mortess Johnson, Lillian Haygood, Ester Manhertz, Martha Collins and Kate Allen all of Rochester, New York, and Joyce Griffin of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Paul Varnado of Raleigh, North Carolina; two precious grandchildren, Jalen Wenzel and JoNell Tate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 7, 2012, from 6 to 8 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3103 Mockingbird Lane, Victoria, Texas, with the Pastor Jose Munoz officiating. Interment will follow at Mission Valley Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force Honor Guard from Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio.
