Von Jeffrey Elliott, 53, formerly of Victoria passed away November 13, 2011 at Scott & White Medical Center in Round Rock after a brief illness. Von was born March 3, 1958, in Morristown, Tennessee, to Jessie Bertram Elliott, Jr. of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Eleanor Webber Brumley of Victoria. He moved with his family to Longview in 1976, and in 1979 Von moved to Victoria where he and his family owned and operated the Western Sizzlin Steak House for over 12 years. This is where Von met and developed some great friends in the Crossroads area. During that period he served as President of the local National Restaurant Association and various civic organizations. He was a big supporter of the Victoria Livestock Show, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiast, and an avid saltwater fisherman. Von was currently working for Mac Haik Ford in Austin.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his brother, Matt Maples and wife, Julie of Victoria; stepfather, Charles E. Maples of Victoria; daughters, Christy Elliott of Mesa, Arizona and Shana Lee Elliott of Goliad; son, Jeremy Elliott of Goliad; nieces and nephews, Austin, Cameron and Grayson Maples of Victoria.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lee Anna Maples in May, 1984.
Memorial services will be held at 2 pm Thursday, November 17, 2011, at the Fellowship Bible Church with Rev. Mike Malone officiating.
