Wade Thomas Gawlik, 44, of Victoria, passed away September 15, 2018, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on July 14, 2018 while vacationing in Florida. Wade was born May 12, 1974 in San Antonio, Texas to Kenneth Thomas and Deborah Marbach Gawlik. Wade was passionate about fishing, hunting, and being on the seat of one of his Harleys. He loved his job as an Oilfield Flowback Consultant for EOG Resources. He made many lifelong friends in the oilfield industry. He never once met a stranger, had the biggest heart, and was full of compassion for all those who were in need. Wade loved spending time with his children, family, and friends dearly. Wade was so proud of being involved with Warrior’s Weekend of Port O’Connor, Texas as a boat captain.
Wade is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Deborah Gawlik; daughter, Brook Gawlik Boykin (Arthur) of Victoria; sons, Wade Gawlik, Jr and Seth Christian Michael Gawlik both of Victoria; sisters, Lynda Gawlik Baker of Maryland, Jodi Gawlik Blaha (Shawn) of Hallettsville; granddaughter, Madison Rae Jean Boykin; nephews, Kenneth Connor Blaha and Carter Wayne Blaha and fiancé, Rose Sandoval.
Special thanks to the Trauma Team of St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida, and to the loving staff of the ICU unit at Kindred Hospital in San Antonio. We would also like to thank his best friend, Chad Brown for the many days and hours he spent by Wade’s side.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels followed by a Rosary at 7 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Friday, September 21, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Chad Brown, Ronnie Gawlik, Darryl Heller, Richard Cope, Earvin Brown, Leon Thomason, Lance Stanley and Joshua Taylor.
