

He was born in Bremen, Ohio on December 2, 1921 to the late Jesse Wade Norris and Dallas Lyle McVeigh Norris.
Wade served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant in World War II. He received a Geology degree from Ohio University, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a postal clerk in Victoria. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Masonic Lodge #40, VFW Post #4146, and the American Legion Post #166 of Victoria, TX.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Sevcik Grones Norris of Victoria; daughters, Donna (Robert) Yanta of Victoria, TX and Jo Anne (Kenneth) Georgie of Meyersville, TX; sister, Evelyn Fueger (Max) of Fairborn, Ohio; step-daughters, Dana (Steve) Gleinser of Cypress, TX and Amy (Todd) Snelgrove of Bryan, TX; step-son, Randy (Emily) Grones of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Gregory Yanta, Kevin Yanta, Jennifer Bennington, Amanda Lyons, Donald Hofmann, Rachel and Abbey Gleinser, Jenna, Leah, and Allie Snelgrove, Ella and Jack Grones; great grandchildren, Cooper, Reece and Avye Yanta, Cole and Aaron Bennington.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Bettye J. Norris; daughter, Dana Hofmann; sister, Marjorie Gardner; and brother, Gene Norris.
Family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 10:00 am at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Kathryn Morton officiating.
Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria County Veterans Council and graveside services by Masonic Lodge #40.
Pallbearers are Gregory Yanta, Kevin Yanta, Donald Hofmann, Jerry Bennington, Randy Grones and Ed Trevino.
