William Allen Brown, 77, of Victoria, passed away, April 30, 2016. William was born November 7, 1938 in Flint, Michigan to the late Ferdinand Brown and Edna Lyons Price. William was a member of the United States Air Force and received the Good Conduct Medal and was employed by the Lockheed Martin Aircraft Corp in California. William graduated from San Fernando Valley State College in California with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and continued his studies towards his Master’s degree by taking numerous classes. He worked for Region III of Victoria in Calhoun County and Texas Parker County in Weatherford, Texas, retiring in 1994. During his lifetime he belonged to the Lions Club, preformed many church activities and danced across Texas and the United States with his wife in the Lem’s Lemons Square Dance Club in Victoria and The Whirlaways in Weatherford. He also volunteered with the Detar Volunteers at Detar North Hospital. After he retired William taught Driver’s Training in Victoria and operated the Texas Defensive Driving, USA. William was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
William is survived by his wife of 56 years, Grace Janell Prewitt Brown; daughters, Carolyn Arthurs and husband, Deano of Victoria, Linda Brown of Montgomery; sons, Stephen Brown and wife, Helen of Sandy Hook, Virginia, David Brown and wife, D’Lesa of Inez; grandchildren, Ashlyn and David Brown of Inez, Meagan Chamrad, Hannah Guerra and Jake Weist of Victoria, Michael LaGrone of Denton, Robin LaGrone of Portland, Oregon, Aaron, Sarah, Rachel and Laura Brown of Sandy Hook, Virginia and great granddaughter, Clementine Chamrad.
Along with his parents, William is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Rill and brother, Raydon Charles Rill, Sr.
A rosary will be recited, at 9:30 AM, Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Holy Family Catholic Church with a Memorial Mass to follow at 10 AM.
Interment will be held at 11 AM, Monday, May 9, 2016, at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi.
