William H. Martin Jr.

William Hugo Martin, Jr. age 91 passed away February 11, 2013. He was a resident of Victoria for 42 years. He was born August 1, 1921 in Waco, Texas. He was best known as Bill to his friends and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a dedicated government servant and a Colonel in the United States Army. He was a longtime member of Saint Francis Episcopal Church.

William is survived by his wife of 71 years, Madeline; daughters, Virginia Ruth (Sis) Martin of Spring, Texas, Celina Victoria (Vicki) Martin of Victoria, Texas; and his son, William Hugo (Billy) Martin III and his wife Lisa of Canyon Lake, Texas. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Kathryn Ann Clifton, William Martin Hayes, Emily Jane Burlbaw, William Russell Martin, Carolyn Holmes Dodson, and Colby Frazier Martin, as well as six great grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Maj. Gen. William Hugo Martin and Lillian Ruth Branch Martin, his mother.

Visitation will be held 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Colonial Funeral Home 1801 E. Red River, Victoria, Texas.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Waco Memorial Park, Waco, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saint Francis Episcopal Church, 3002 Miori Victoria, Texas.
