

William “Bill” Clark Rigby was born on September 24, 1962, in Victoria, Texas, to J. G. and Dorothy Rigby. Bill has been employed by Victoria County as an adult probation officer since 1995. He has also continued his employment with the Devereux Foundation since 1992.
Bill was an extraordinary man whom many called best friend. He lived life well, serving his family, friends, coworkers and neighbors. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder. He was involved in many volunteer efforts in the community, his favorites include Warrior’s Weekend, American Red Cross, The Friends of Devereux, and Victoria Preservation Incorporated (past president). He was very interested in the history of Victoria and the surrounding areas. His beautiful home was featured on the local historic home tour in 2010.
Survivors include Bill’s parents, J.G. and Dorothy Rigby; sister, Debra Studer and husband, David and brother, R. W. Rigby all of Victoria, niece, Austin Bowen and husband, Bryan; nephew, Trey Dick and wife, Amy and their children, Bridget, Samantha and Alivia, who was born just hours after her great Uncle Bill’s passing.
Pallbearers are Weldon Eggert, Ernesto Perez, Carlos Villa, Jasper Pino, Reuben Ybarra, Michael Raven, Lon Smith, and James West. Honorary pallbearers are Shirley Heron, Lisa Nowotny, and Julia Uthoff.
Bill’s friends and family served around-the-clock as caregivers during the last months of his life. This group, fondly referred to as Bill’s Warriors , included those serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers, as well as Joe Baugh, Suzy Baugh, Cathy Hurst, Dave and Bonnie Green, Derek Heron, Bob Hoffman, Tim Hornbeck, Kevin McDermott, John Moraida, Stella Silva, and Lloyd and Georgia West.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 6-7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 3604 N. Ben Jordan, with Rev. Dan Fultz officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
