Xavier R Fossati, 94 of Victoria passed away peacefully on the night of January 6, 2024.
He was a lifelong resident of Victoria being born on the 2nd of August 1929 to Frank Louis and
Ella Mae Vogt Fossati.
Mr Fossati was the founder, owner and operator of City Plumbing Supply for many years.
He operated his business up until his accident shortly before Christmas.
He is survived by his loving daughters Beth Fossati of Victoria, Amy Mansfield (Troy) of
Anahuac; and his loving sons David Fossati (Jeanie), Tim Fossati (Janis), John Fossati (Annette),
Dan Fossati (Rosanna) all of Victoria; sister Gloria Borrecca of Houston and constant companion
Margie Birdwell; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and two great great
grandchildren.
Xavier was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Annette Birdwell Fossati; sisters,
Catherine Wyatt, Rita Tuttle, Veronica Pahmiyer, Therese Bombersbach and brothers
Frank A, Gregory, Gerard, and Vincent Fossati.
Mr. Fossati proudly served his country attaining rank of Captain through officer candidate
school and becoming company commander of Company E (Bridge company) of the 386th
Armored Engineer Battalion, 49th armored division. He then served as Major at headquarters
of the 386th Battalion before retiring from the US Army National Guard.
His comrades with the Victoria Veterans council will conduct full military honors at the burial ceremony.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock on Friday, the 12th of
January at Rosewood Funeral Chapel with a rosary to be recited at half past six o’clock in the
evening.
The Mass of Christian Burial is ten o’clock on the morning on Saturday the 13th of
January at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory with entombment to follow in
Resurrection Mausoleum.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are his grandchildren, Tracy Lane, David Fossati Jr,
William Fossati, Captain Kate Fossati Grant, Richard Fossati, Lynn Calandro, Deann Fossati,
John Robert Mansfield, Mason Mansfield. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be
Xavier’s long and faithful employees, Kenneth Fishbeck, Alex Cavazos, Oscar Tabora,
Bernie Simper.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Mr. Fossati’s name be directed to Our Lady of Victory TV Mass Fund or
