Carl Caster Lee Jones, born 9 May 1934, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Rosie Lee (Driver) and Harry Jones, passed away peacefully on 12 June 2026, at the age of 92. After earning his Bachelor of Science from Tennessee State University, Carl proudly served his country for 28 years in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Electrical and Munitions Systems Specialist. Carl's integrity, strength, and character were shaped by a distinguished military career that gave him the discipline to navigate every phase of life. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Carl brought his extensive expertise to The Boeing Company, contributing as an electrical mechanic to the MD-80/90 and C-17 Programs.
Beyond his professional achievements, Carl was an enthusiastic collector of many things including coins, comic books, stamps, and LP albums, just to name a few. He was known in his neighborhood for the large, vibrant koi pond he built in his front yard, which became a beloved local landmark. People were naturally drawn to him; he welcomed conversation, listened closely to others’ stories, and brightened a room with his hearty laugh and signature "dad jokes." Whether someone had known him for years or had just met him, many found him approachable and easy to talk to as a friend.
Carl's legacy of kindness lives on through his beloved family. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Kazumi; his children, Kazuo Carlos Jones (Anita), Clarissa Jones, and Nicole Robertson (Vincient); and his cherished grandchildren, Justin and Jared De Leon, Tiana and Quaid Jones, and Zaphrina Altairah. He also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
A celebration of Carl’s life will take place at Funeraria Del Angel Victor Valley (15609 11th St., Victorville, CA 92395) on Monday, 6 July 2026, at 12:00 p.m., with a reception to follow at the same location. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Riverside National Cemetery on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, at 1:00 p.m. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
