It is with great sadness that the family of Carole Smith, of Phelan, announce her passing after a brief, but aggressive battle with cancer, on Monday, July 2, at the age of 57 years. Carole will be lovingly remembered by her children and step-children: Jason (Laura), Bobbi (Jon), Bonnie (Michael), Randall, Mindy (Steve), Jennifer (Chris), Nate (Melissa), and Jaime (Ryan), as well as her brother Alan Buchecker, her sister Stephanie Palmeri Farias, and mother, Beverly Palmeri. Most notably, Carole will also be fondly remembered by her 21 grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as “Nana.” Being Nana was her greatest joy and her greatest legacy. Carole was preceded in death by her beloved partner, Steven K. Seltenreich.
