Chicpaul Masakayan Becerra Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Chicpaul Masakayan Becerra Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who passed away on June 23, 2026 at the age of 68. He was a resident of Victorville, California.

Chicpaul was born on December 16, 1957 in Norfolk, Virginia. He proudly served in the military—four years in the U.S. Air Force and 16 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as Sergeant First Class Chicpaul Becerra Jr. After retiring, he worked as a substitute teacher, administrative assistant at Victor Valley College, and stocker for a brief two-day stint at his favorite shopping center Walmart. As a photojournalist for the Army, Chicpaul was known for his photos and adventurous spirit. He could always be found traveling with his beloved wife, gardening in his backyard sanctuary, or enjoying the nearest swimming pool or beach. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as a Grand Knight.

Chicpaul is survived by his wife, Carmelita; their children, Carmi Sheila (Nathan), Carlo Francis, Crisco Jovan (Julie); grandchildren, Bayani, Malachi, Claudio, Theodore; brothers, Edgar and Bobby; and sister, Ann.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Victor Valley, 15609 11th Street, Victorville, CA 92395, US, on July 13, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Funeral Service will take place at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, 13230 El Evado Road, Victorville, CA 92392, US, on July 14, 2026. Rosary will begin at 10:00 am, followed by Mass. Guests are invited to wear Hawaiian print attire in celebration of Chicpaul’s life and memory. 

Committal Service will follow at Desert View Memorial Park, 11500 Amargosa Road, Victorville, CA 92392, US, on July 14, 2026, beginning at 12:00 pm.
