Eleanor Ramirez Martinez

Eleanor Ramirez Martinez, 99, passed away on April 21, 2026. Born Eleanor Ramirez Martinez was born to Encarnacion and Leonor (Arriolla) Ramirez February 07, 1927 in Los Angeles, CA. She lived to be 99 years - 2 months and peacefully passed away April 21, 2026 at home with family in attendance.

Nora attended local schools and after graduating from Garfield H.S., she enrolled in Marinello’s School of Beauty and that was the beginning of her beautiful and fulfilling life of work.

On June 26, 1949 she was married to Rudolph Sotelo Martinez at Our Lady of Solitude Parish just across the street from her childhood home. They began their lives together in Los Angeles where they had 3 boys. While the children were still young, they moved to Pico Rivera to raise their family, and then to Victorville to retire. Lastly they moved to La Habra to live out their golden years closer to their children.

Nora was very involved with the church and enjoyed keeping busy. In her time with the church she was a member of the Marian group the Blue Army, she served as a eucharistic minister and was one of those crazy Charismatics, her love of God and people was evident. She always had a smile, a hug, a prayer and a blessing for everyone.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law: Rudy (Pike), Marie and Larry. She had 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grand children one of whom was named after her Nora. And the miracle of life goes on.

A viewing will be held at Desert View, 11478 Amargosa Rd, Victorville, CA 92392, on May 7, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will follow at Desert View at the same location on May 7, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Graveside Service will be held at Desert View Memorial Park, 11500 Amargosa Rd, Victorville, CA 92392, on May 7, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
