Evelyn Joyce Schatz

Evelyn Joyce Hudec Schatz, 83, long-time resident of Hesperia, California, beloved mother, grand-mother, great-grand-mother and friend passed away at Mission Hospital, Mission Viejo, California, July 29, 2019, with her loved ones by her side.

She was the only child of Frank and Angeline Hudec born on November 16, 1935, in Jarrell, Texas.

Evelyn graduated from Jarrell High School and received her Associate Degree from Victor Valley College.

Evelyn had careers in communications, office management, sales and her passion, childhood development.

Her Catholic faith was always a constant in her life. She attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Hesperia, California and was also an active member of The Legion of Mary. She served faithfully in the High Desert for many years.

Evelyn wrote several creative children’s books of her childhood adventures in Jarrell, which her family holds dearly.

Her favorite pastimes were gardening, sewing and, most importantly, time with her family and friends. Supporting her loved ones and making cherished memories together gave her true joy.

All of us who knew her felt the love, softness and sweetness that was Evelyn. She touched all who crossed her path and wanted for nothing, never hardened, though she faced many challenges in life. Evelyn, a loving, faithful, joyful servant of Christ, is now our angel in heaven sending us love and comfort from above.

Michael Schwing, spouse Amber, and great-grand-children, Aubrie, Taylin and Brynne

Kristina Bell, spouse Brandon, and great-grand-children, Gwyneth and Rowan

Daughter Joan Antoinette Demahy and grand-children, Christopher and Joshua.

A visitation for Evelyn will be held Friday, August 2, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, 13230 EL Evado Rd, Victorville, California 92392. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 2, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 13230 EL Evado Rd, Victorville, California 92392. A graveside service will occur Friday, August 2, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Desert View Memorial Park, 11500 Amargosa Rd., Victorville, CA.
