Frederic Wayne Osburn
February 21, 1947 – March 16, 2020
Frederic “Wayne” Osburn of Apple Valley, California, passed away peacefully on March 16th, 2020 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley. He was in the presence of his loving family. He was born February 21st, 1947 in Hemet, California. Wayne graduated in 1965 from Norte Vista High School in Riverside, California where he made many lifelong friends. Wayne enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served on the USS Oriskany “Mighty O” until being honorably discharged after a devastating shipboard fire in 1966. On June 7th, 1973 he wed his soul mate Debbie Hampton, a marriage lasting 47 years until his passing. Together they had one child Jeffery Osburn. Wayne worked in the automotive industry and motorcycle industry for most of his life where he always excelled in managerial roles, was faithfully followed, and continued making friends. Wayne was the definition of “cool”. You could feel his presence in any room. From his dry sense of humor (most notably at funerals), to that unnerving way he would stare just above your eyes to intimidate you, to the loving way he would torture his brothers, he could not be ignored. His cars—his ‘40 Ford, his ‘Vette, his Chevelle, his Porsche, his 240Z, his beloved Dodge, and even a rail were just a few of the hundreds he owned and traded for in his lifetime. He set the pace wherever he went, and was impossible to catch on the race track, the street, or the Glamis Dunes. Wayne led a small social community online with his daily inspirational messages and his knowledge of sports and vehicles. He had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He was always there with a listening ear for anyone that needed to talk. His home was a welcoming place to heal where everyone was a friend. Wayne always put family first. He is survived by his loving wife Debbie, his son Jeffery, his daughter-in-law Robin and two grandchildren Katie and Anna, his brother Bruce, his sister Roberta “Birdie” Osborn, Melody Rix, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. His brother, Ron Osburn, his mother, Evaline Robinson, and his father, Robert Osburn, predecease him. No services are scheduled at this time. He will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery, where services will be held at a later date. Time and date to be posted here.

Wayne will be truly missed. His sense of humor, contagious laugh and spirit were the best. Many memories thru the years camping and being together as a family. My Dad brought potatoes to everyone at Afton Canyon camp one year, Wayne put a leash on a big spud and walked it around camp, hilarious, to top it off he brought a spud to Dad's memorial, great memory. RIP nephew , and unite with your Mom and brother and our other loved ones. See you again someday, we loved you very much. Uncle Bob and Aunt Marie

Greetings to all friends and family of Wayne Osburn. This is his Nephew Ron Osburn Jr. . I wanted to let you know that today his struggle has ended. I loved this man. He and Debbie Osburn have been there or me from the beginning. From my earliest days, I can remember spending the night at their house in Riverside and living at their house in Hesperia for a while in High School. Wayne always had a story to tell and a laugh to inspire. I will never forget the day he to said o me, "Good man Ronny!" and gave me a thumbs up. He always pointed to Aunt Debbie and said to me privately, "It's all because of her. She's a GREAT woman." He was always brutally honest and a straight shooter. I will never forget the strength he gave me to help me get through my dad's passing.
