

Greg Hawkins, our loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend, was called home on May 12, 2015 to be with our Lord and to be reunited with his father, Leo Hawkins, Sr., and his sister, Lynne Skinner, and his Grandmother, Antoinette Zimmer. Greg will be deeply missed and will forever be in the hearts of his wife, Monica Hawkins, and their three children, Gregory Hawkins, Devan Hawkins and Daniel Hawkins, his mother, Arlene Hawkins, his brother, Leo Hawkins and wife Luisa, sisters, Annette Connors and husband Chris, Dianne Stepp and husband Gene. Greg was loved by many including his brother-n-law, Paul Skinner, and mother-n-law, Wanda Reno, as well as his nieces and nephews, and all of his aunts and uncles and cousins and his many friends that are far numerous to mention. Greg was born on January 19, 1966 in Los Angeles, Ca. He grew up in Apple Valley, Ca. and attended Apple Valley High School where he graduated in 1984. Greg played basketball and baseball in high school. Over the course of his high school years, Greg was awarded with numerous baseball accolades. Greg’s love for the game of baseball steered him into the love of coaching. Greg coached baseball for Apple Valley Little League for 10 years, as well as, basketball for 4 years. Our community grew to love and respect Greg for his ever-present dedication and love and patience with his teams. Greg had a passion for coaching and it showed in the way he molded these young men and players. Greg was an Engineer for BNSF Railroad for 22 years. Greg loved his job and all of the lifelong friends he made along the way. Greg dedicated his time to help in places of need within his work to help others being a member of Operation Stop. Greg touched many lives and will always be remembered for his kind words, his gentle and loving nature and for being an incredibly nurturing dad and the most loving and dedicated husband. He was a faith filled man and always willing to spread the word of the Lord. We thank God every day for allowing us to share our lives together before calling Greg home.
