I knew Guy for 30 years. I was in escrow and often relied on his  help and knowledge. I retired in 2013 and moved out of state in 2017 so was unaware of his passing. I am so very sorry. He was one of a kind, so glad to have known him. Such a loss

I worked with Guy at Chicago Title and Lawyers Title in the 80s and 90s. . Some of the best times of my career was working with Guy. He ran Subsivision and I had resale. Good times we made lots of money and he even took me skiing and fishing (both disasters btw). He was smart, quick witted and competitive. Did not like to lose !  

I am so, so sorry for your loss and I regret not being there in person to tell the family face to face.

Guy, you will be missed.  Your smile and kindness was infectious.  Thank you for being a great leader.  My prayers are with your family.

I first met Guy when he worked for Lawyers Title.  As a banker, I utilized title companies often.  One of the things that I liked best about working with Guy is he knew what was important and what wasn’t in title reports and how to mitigate situations.  So when I had issues with other title companies refusing to remove unwarranted exceptions that just made no sense or for which documentation just could not be found, I knew I could change title to Guy and he would work through the problem to get it done.  That’s why Guy gained a lot of my business.  I don’t ever recall Guy not being able to close an order for me.

On the social side, Guy was always great to talk with and went out of his way to make sure he talked with me if he saw me at a gathering.  I have one particular incident that I have always remembered.  We were at a golf tournament for one of the local non-profit groups at Spring Valley Lake Country Club.  Guy and I got paired up since we each registered as single golfers.  I had not been playing golf all that long and had not gotten around to buying spiked shoes.  I was in the pro shop looking at shoes and decided upon a pair.  Guy looked at them and said, ‘yeah those will work great’ and walked away.  I put them on and went to the counter to pay.  That is when the clerk advised me that my golf partner had already paid for them!  A very selfless man..........I will miss him very much……….

Guy was the Division President when I joined Stewart Title seven years ago and he and I immediately hit it off. As Guy's responsibilities expanded, I had the fortune to speak with Guy typically every day. Guy was my 7:00 am morning call since we were both early birds and we could catch up before the day got busy. To be honest, Guy handled so many things for Stewart Title of California, Inc. that his absence is already evident. Personally, he and Brenda came to my daughter's adoption party and he always spoke to Iliza whenever I was on a late call with him and had my daughter with me. Guy was a very special person, colleague and friend. There are very few people that I can call to run things by - and pretty much anything - and Guy was my go-to. I already miss him greatly!!!

I feel truly lucky to have had such an amazing father-in-law. He’s been in my life since I was 14 years old and I have so many memories. One struck me unexpectedly yesterday when I was driving to their house passing several fast food restaurants on Main St. I was reminded of when we used to carpool to work and we’d occasionally go through a drive thru to pick up dinner on the way home.  He ordered an extra fry and when I asked who for he said for us. That way we wouldn’t have to wait and no one would know we had extra! He knew how to have fun and enjoy every minute even the little things like sharing an extra fry. I hope I can keep that spirit and remember to find joy in the little moments. I love you dad ❤️

I came into the Kruger family later than the other in-laws, all of our nieces and nephews were already born and growing up, I was nervous to say the least about how I was going to fit in.  When I met Guy, he instantly started joking around with me and teasing me, and that put me at ease.  I knew that I would love being a part of this family, and I was right. 28 years later, all of our children are now adults and most have kids of their own, and our lives are all busy so we didn't get to see each other as often as we would have liked, but when we did get together, it felt as if no time had passed and we would pick on each other, laugh at the crazy stories of the Kruger boys' childhood (poor Debbie), and leave feeling good that we spent some time together.   I am so grateful that we recently got together, even if it was just a few hours, to talk and laugh and just love our family.  I will miss Guy and his wit, his smile, his ability to make me laugh.  I know that Guy and Larry are catching up in heaven and making each other laugh some more.  Sending love to all of my Kruger family!

I have been choking back memories all week since Guy’s passing about my youth and siblings. I have detailed visions of Christmases, camping trips, skiing adventures, Disneyland trips, and many schools to name but a few. I hold these memories close to my heart and am glad that we experienced them together.

I am so terribly sad at losing my brother. I take solace only in knowing that he is the only one of us that did not have to experience this feeling of losing a part of all we are by being the first sibling to join our dad in Heaven.


My heart felt sympathy goes out to Brenda and family,

  I met Guy back in the early 80's,  when I dated then married Brenda's sister Jennifer.  He welcomed me into the family and treated me just like a brother. His wisdom and unique sense of humor will give me a lifetime of wonderful memories.  
  One of the best memories was when we installed a 220v outlet for Brenda's mother to hook up her dryer.  To feed the wire down the wall Guy had to drill a hole next to other electrical lines. He had us turn off all power except the line that powered the electric drill. The whole time he was drilling we were all nervous he would hit the power line and get electrocuted, he had fun with us pretending he got zapped the whole time. 

I've known Guy for over 30 years. He was always kind and had positive things to impart.  He was an amazing Title professional who was one of my "go tos" when there was an issue no one could figure out. Smart as a whip, but more importantly a good person, father, son and grandfather. You knew he cared about YOU when he spoke, which is a rare trait.  You will be missed by so many. Love to Brenda and the whole family.  .  

I first met Guy in 1989 through his wife Brenda. We met at the bowling alley and discovered we both owned a 1986 Mazda Miata. We decided to go on a drive to wrightwood. He met me at the door and I introduced myself he told me to go in and help Brenda she was having trouble with her hair 😝. And so we began a 30 year friendship or should I say family ship as we did everything together. Birthdays, holidays, bowling, camping. He even gave me advice on how to do a rooster tail as his were awesome. “Heidi you have to dip your shoulder as low as it will go “ So I did, but the only thing I managed to do was 3 cartwheels on top of the water and flash his teenage son Sott and Scott’s friend when I took off my ski vest as my bathing suit top had vanished. Thanks Guy. Rest In Peace my friend. 

My father was a gentle soul. So gentle that he was known to pass out if he ever saw a child being hurt. When I was little (approximately 1 year old) he had me on his shoulders and was bouncing around the house. He wasn’t aware that he approached a ceiling fan that was on. It barely grazed my head but he quickly handed me over to my mom and immediately passed out, falling into the dishwasher. There were many more times that this happened but that story will always be one of my favorites. 

Guy Kruger is my brother in law but I always called him my brother. He was a beautiful man who loved his family. He taught me to ski - badly😍. He loved his wife,my sister and his children and grandchildren. He was the life of the party and always there for me. The most amazing man I have ever known. I love you to the moon and back. Your little sis Jen 

I first met Guy in April 1984 when we first started working together at Safeco Title Ins. in San Bernardino. We have been friends and have worked with each other for the past 35 years. I am truly going to miss him and his wonderful sense of humor! May God Bless his entire family with strength and peace as they process the loss of this wonderful man...husband, father and grandfather. Rest in peace my friend!

I knew Guy as a business associate for about 15 years.  He was one of my favorite personalities in the title industry, and I considered him a friend.  Guy was a straightforward business manager who understood how to make money for the company, and treat people fairly, both at the same time.  That is not always an easy balance to strike or maintain, but Guy mastered the skill.  Maybe best of all, we shared a lot of laughs together.  

I was shocked to hear of Guy's passing, and wish nothing but the best for the family he leaves behind.
