James William Betts III was born September 19th, 1952. James is the third child of eleven, born in Casa Grande, Arizona, to James and Barbara Betts. Upon moving to Los Angeles, California, James attended Bret Harte Middle School and also attended George Washington High School in Los Angeles, CA. He was very competitive in baseball, dominoes, and playing cards. He was a business owner, Betts + Betts Construction. He was a very good singer. In his younger days, he sang in a gospel group with his older sisters, Regina Weaver and Judy Betts, and he loved going out to sing karaoke. James had many friends that he accumulated. He definitely wasn't shy with talking. He'll be missed by his children: Toro Betts, Deon Betts (deceased), Jade Betts, Marcus Betts, Nicholi Betts, and host of grandchildren. He is leaving behind his mother, Barbara Betts; sisters Regina Weaver and Yvonne Betts-Smith; and brothers Johnny Betts, Kendall Betts, Victor Betts, and Ronald Betts. He joins in peace his father, James W. Betts Jr., his sister Judy Betts; brothers Harold Betts, Jimmy Betts, and Carl Betts; and several nephews and nieces. James also leaves in mourning a longtime companion, Thelma Cannon.
