James L. Bullard, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on March 4, 1939, in Miami, Florida, James was the youngest of eight children born to Robert and Susan Bullard.
Known for his intelligence and close relationship with his mother, James embarked on a distinguished 21-year career in the United States Air Force in 1961. His service took him across the country, from Wichita Falls, Texas, to Sacramento, California, Topeka, Kansas, and finally to Victorville, California.
It was in Sacramento that James met the love of his life, Judy. The couple married on August 16, 1969, and James embraced the role of stepfather to Judy's son, Bryan. While stationed at George Air Force Base, James and Judy welcomed twin boys, Robyn and Kevyn, completing their family.
After retiring from the Air Force in 1981, James began a second career with the City of Victorville. For 27 years, he dedicated himself to public service, finding joy in operating heavy equipment, particularly his favorite - the road grader. His passion for his work was evident to all who knew him.
James was a true "man of the people," with a gift for friendship that touched everyone he met. Despite his imposing stature, he was known as a gentle giant, bringing peace and warmth to those around him.
In retirement, James and Judy relocated to Elko, Nevada, where they enjoyed their golden years together.
James is survived by his sons Bryan (Lyndalou), Robyn (Marissa), and Kevyn (Maureen), as well as eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His legacy of love, service, and friendship will live on through the many lives he touched.
