Born to Edna Eva and Bernice Dockens in Port Arthur, Texas.
Went home to his Angels at Desert Valley Hospital surrounded by his wife Janet, stepdaughters Rhonda and Sharee and step granddaughter Destiny.
Preceded in death by his first wife Louise.
He is survived by wife Janet Louise Thurston-Dockens of seven years.
Also survived by his brother Charles and Lovada his sister. Nephews Chris and Charles Jr. Dockens and Robert and Mark Wheaton. Several great nieces and nephews. Step children Sharee (Joe), Rhonda (Dennis), Robert Thurston Jr. (Beth). Seven step grand children and ten step great grandchildren.
