Celebrating a Life Well-Lived
John Robert Krause, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, in Loma Linda, CA. Born in Detroit and raised in Livonia, MI. John attended St. Michael’s School and John Glenn High School.
John pursued his career as a machinist and was respected in his field. He was proud to have worked on predator planes for many years. If they needed a special part, John was the one they came to, and he would make it. Those who had the privilege of working with John remember him for his brilliance, tenacity, and humility.
John loved to fish wherever he went. It could be on a river anywhere or deep-sea fishing with his brother and sons. Oh, did John love his cars, especially his obsession with Volvo’s. He would find a used Volvo and make it look new from the inside out. John could spend hours fixing the Volvo’s, looking for parts and making them shine.
John is survived by his loving wife Dana of 45 years and his 7 children. Lauren & (Sean) Grant, Rachel (Eric) Leitzinger, Eric (Sara) Krause, Alison Krause, Joseph Krause, Travis Krause and Isabelle Krause. His grandchildren Eden & Avalon Sepulveda, Corduroy and Valley Robson and Liam Leitzinger. He is also survived by his siblings, Patty Krause, Gary Krause and Jeff Krause. John was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary Ann Krause, his brother Kevin Krause and grandson Lennon Leitzinger.
In memory of John Krause, we celebrate the life of a generous, loving and kindhearted man who loved his family. His memory and legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A service to honor John’s life will be held later in Bishop, CA. Where his ashes will be scattered at the Owen’s River for one more trip down the river.
Though John is no longer with us, his spirit lives in the hearts of those he touched. His legacy is one of love, resilience, and an enduring belief in the goodness of humanity. We bid him farewell with heavy hearts but also with immense gratitude for the privilege of knowing him.
Rest in peace, John. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
