John Peter MacLeod

May 23, 1955 – September 16, 2026

John Peter MacLeod Jr., age 71, of Victorville, California, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 16, 2026, in Loma Linda, California.

John was born on May 23, 1955, in Massachusetts, to John “Jack” MacLeod Sr. and Carol MacLeod. He grew up in Spring Valley, California, where his lifelong love of art began alongside his father, Jack, and at Southwest Art Gallery.

On December 2, 1978, John married the love of his life, Shannon MacLeod. Their 48-year marriage was a beautiful example of a Christ-centered covenant, marked by love, humility, devotion, and faithfulness. John treasured his wife, his daughters, and his family, and his devotion to them will be remembered by all who knew him.

John enjoyed a long career in the power industry from 1985 through 2022. He brought dedication and faithfulness to his work.

Above all, John's greatest treasures were God and his family. He was known for his love, faith, humor, and caring spirit. His faith was lived through service, especially during his 25 years as a VBS Art Volunteer at Calvary Chapel High Desert. Through his multimedia artwork and mentoring, John used his God-given talents to teach children, share the message of salvation, and point others toward Christ. His art became a ministry and a lasting expression of his faith.

John's life was beautifully reflected in 1 Peter 4:10–11, which he shared often:

“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, as in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

John is survived by his beloved wife, Shannon MacLeod; his mother, Carol MacLeod; his brother, David MacLeod and wife, Deb; his sister, deborah Walker and husband, David; and his daughters, Tamara McLain and husband, Rocky; April MacLeod; and Desiree MacLeod.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Katalina Aguilar, Abigail Caldwell and husband Tony, Ayden Dupont, Mason Dupont, and James Fox. He was looking forward to welcoming his great-grandchild, Theodore Caldwell, due December 12, 2026.

John was preceded in death by his father, John “Jack” MacLeod Sr.

Those who knew John will remember his love, faith, humor, artistic spirit, and devotion to Shannon and his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and servant of Christ who faithfully used the gifts God gave him to bless others.

His life can be remembered through the words of 2 Timothy 4:7:

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

John's family invites those who loved him to celebrate the life God gave him, the people he loved, the gifts he shared, and the faith that carried him home.
