John L. Westbrook, 88, of Lucerne Valley, California, passed away July 4, 2016. He was born in Los Angeles, California, March 16, 1928. John graduated from Bell High School. He was drafted from High School to serve in the armed forces. He served 3 years in the U.S. Army in Italy and Germany at Templehof Air Field during the "Berlin Air Lift". He was married to Norma Jean Telfer on March 9, 1951. They were married 65 years. John worked as a Paint Contractor and Paperhanger in Big Bear Lake. He had a passion for leather work and loved to scrap anything from TV's and computers, door knobs, cars, motor homes, and anything he could take apart. He is survived by his wife Norma Jean, children Kevin Wayne Westbrook, Cindy Lee Westbrook, and Sergio Gutierrez. He was preceded in passing by his brother Wayne Westbrook.
