Jose Marcelo De Leon

Jose Marcelo De Leon, 75 years old, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, June 9, 2022 at his beloved home in Apple Valley, California surrounded by his family. Marcelo was born September 16, 1946 to Marcelo and Berta (Ramirez) De Leon in Guatemala City, the oldest of six children.

Marcelo met his beautiful bride and wife of 52 years, Blanca Castro Gil. They were married in Guatemala on May 10, 1969. Marcelo was a devoted father; he was a problem-solver who often took difficult tasks at work and around the house. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and people who knew him.

In 1969, Marcelo began his lifetime career in the sales industry. He was a respected great salesperson. He worked in various industries and always took pride in his work. Apart from working, Marcelo greatly enjoyed spending his weekends with his family and friends. He loved the warm weather and every time he had a chance, he would take his family to the coast to go swimming in the ocean, eat at good restaurants and have a cocktail. He also enjoyed spending free time watching various TV shows. He enjoyed going to the movie theaters and matinees. Marcelo was a kind, caring and very protective of his family man who spent most of his life thinking about others. He always surrounded himself by his family which is where he felt most comfortable and loved.

Marcelo is survived by his wife, Blanca, daughters, Maria del Rosario (Adrian) and Maria Alejandra De Leon; granddaughters Adrianna Marie and Jessica Arlene Brandon; great-grandson Alexander Noah; brother Rodolfo De Leon; sisters, Maria Eugenia de Cambara, Patricia Del Busto and Lucrecia de Masaya; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marcelo was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Manuel De Leon.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Desert View Funeral Home. The family will greet family and friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM followed by Praying the Rosary at 3:00-3:30 PM and mass service at 4:00 PM.
