Uncle Leonard,

You are so loved, you have so many memories with all of your nieces and nephews you even endured yourself to your great nieces and nephews.  You made yourself a part of all their lives and was always there for each of us even when there were disagreements in the family, we always knew we can call you, come to you and you'd be there without an issue at all.

I have memories with you as a little girl riding on your motorcycle,  seeing our aunt who is a nun on your motorcycle haha! Memories with you, Gary and our babies we stayed at your house and celebrated a new year's with you in your brand new house with all of your beautiful new furniture.  When we'd go visit you,  you and Gary would disappear into the garage and you'd stay together for hours talking.  Thank you for loving him. Memories of your candy drawer, your money game "pick a hand."  Your laugh (you laughed the same way as nana) , parties at mom and dad's house, my uncle's just showing up whenever, those were the best days. 

You suffered a lot in life with your sickness and your baby boy but you always made people around you happy, laughing, giving, being silly, you were a jokster.   I could find comfort in knowing that you are no longer in any pain physically,  emotionally, you can run, dance, be silly without pain, tears, hurt, worries.  Love you uncle Leonard fly high! God bless you and I'm thinking about you today.

Going through my phone today and found a old picture of us and thought I would post it.  I also remembered when you would take me for a ride on your motorcycle lol. You said, “hold onto my belt and don’t lean because I don’t feel like falling today.”

I will miss you every day that I am here left behind in this world. My heart is so hurt and broken without you. I will remember all my childhood memories with you, and all my adult going into my old age memories with you. You were always so happy, you would dance, sing, tell jokes, and laugh. I put this off for a few days just because I don't want to say goodbye to you!You were taken too soon!You had so many more times and memories to still share!More conversations, laughs talking sH*$ and my kids still having fun with you and playing the money game!I think back to when I would spend time with you and my Nina and stay over your house in El Monte. Then think to when I was 9 and spending SO much time with you and  aunt Roxanne and having the best times as a kid with you guys. Your house has always been the fun house,the house with nothing but fun foods and the house where we could feel comfortable and do whatever we wanted.I remember when I moved to Chicago and Roman and I needed help and you never hesitated once. You trusted me and always had my back. I am thankful for us keeping in touch,our talks and your guidance rather that would be "who cares mija f em" "or do they pay your bills?" something I will continue to go by lol.I'm SO beyond thankful you were able to be part of my babies lives.  They are too sadden by this and said " we'll miss him, he was funny and so nice." But thank God they knew you and loved going over your house to play in your "park" (aka your backyard). I will cherish the times we hung out and would go over! I can't be thankful for at least knowing we made memories still as me being an adult. If only we had a rewind button and I could go back to last Friday or Saturday and pick up that damn phone and have had just ONE last conversation with you!But I am thankful for the one we just had the week before and I can clearly hear you saying " okay mija I'll let you go I love you" and I said " I love you and STOP SMOKING you nerd, we still need you here!" And you laughed with that crazy laugh.I love you so much, you were truly one of a kind and had the biggest heart, best personality and I will never fully understand why the good are taken from us so soon.I love you.Come see me in my dreams so we can talk and laugh. 

Hey uncle Leonard,

I'm heartbroken to see you leave us so soon. As I read all the cherished memories everyone has with you, it brought back the memories I have.  At the age of 5,  I used to love when you would come over to my mom's house on your motorcycle, and take me for fast rides down the street. You were always full of surprises, i remember you would open up a compartment on your bike that was full of candy and fun toys.  I'm thankful I have this characteristic like you, I love to surprise my godchildren and now my own babies. 

I admire the funny, big hearted loving personality you had, even with the excruciating pain you went through. I acknowledge what the skin condition we have causes, not many people understand the type of pain, physical scaring, emotional heartache it can cause and I'm sorry you had to go through that,  I truly believe God has a plan for everyone, and places hardships in their lives to shape the person he designed them to be. With that being said, you touched many of our lives in such a positive way and I'm thankful for all the fun and loving memories we had.

 I'm sorry I wasn't around these past 3 years because of graduate school, but I know I'll see you when it's time. Rest in peace with no more pain.

Uncle Leonard... I was not ready for you to leave me at all. You were THE BEST uncle any human can ever have. You would of literally gave your life up for anyone who had your blood flowing through their veins. You were always there for us since we came out of my mom and also there for our kids we had. I know the thing that eases my pain is that you are no longer in pain. I thank God a million times that we talked and laughed the day before God took you to be with Nana and Tata who you missed dearly. You are now my Guardian angel and I know you are with me everyday. I got the news well I was working.. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I love you and miss you already.. Last moment I had with you was at Tata funeral. I couldn’t see you at home I wouldn’t be able to take seeing you that was. You were always a amazing uncle to us all from day one. Uncle Leonard was one of the most important figures in my life growing up. Staying at his house playing Mike Tyson's punchout and Mario Brothers for hours  was the most fun. Going out to see movies, wrestling matches and attending horror movie conventions to meet the celebrities in those films, I looked forward to every year. He was the funniest person, the most generous and just liked to have fun. In Middle school when I was asked to write about someone I admired, it was an easy choice to write about him. I will see him on the mountain above the clouds.

Words can't express how much ima miss you. I'll never forget our trips to Wal-mart every Tuesday just to make sure Michael always had the new release movies. Not only did god bless my mama having me on your birthday, I remember you always saying I was special to you for that gift. I'll never forget when I was at my lowest with my first child Bella and you raise me up telling me I can and will do this with Pebbles and later your Bam Bam. It's so hard knowing you are gone you are such an amazing, caring, giving, Uncle any niece could ever ask for. I'm thankful for all the beautiful times we had together as a child & adult. Please know I will always be there for your son & your truly was an amazing and caring father to him. God was ready for you Uncle he seen all the good things you did in this wonderful world for everyone at any given time. Ima miss my ringtone going off to "what a wonderful world" knowing it's you calling me if only I could turn back the time one last time to say thank you for always helping my mama with all "ten" of us.
