Loretta Annamarie Senay was born on Tuesday, July 15, 1947 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She had a difficult childhood, growing up never knowing her real father. Her family had to move several times before settling in Ontario, CA. There she met her husband Vito Sciortino. She faced several bouts with cancer including breast, cervical, and ovarian cancer. She defeated each cancer with the last causing her to lose one ovary. She then had a tubal pregnancy, which led to losing her fallopian tube on the same side as her only ovary. She was told she would never have children. However, she was a woman of faith and wanted children so much. She prayed hard and was blessed with several boys and later with many grandchildren. She loved being a mother and a grandmother. She always had to stop when she saw a baby to say hello. She cared about others also. She was a Chaplain at a hospital in Texas and was actively involved in Catholic Daughters at Our Lady of the Desert. She was always willing to listen when someone was hurting and her smiles and laughter warmed the hearts of others who saw her. Many people have expressed she was special to them. Her final fight was with pancreatic cancer that she was diagnosed with in May 2023. It had already spread to her liver and lungs. She had already had many miracles in her life, but she was ready to see her mom again along with other loved ones who had already passed on. She passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 in Apple Valley, CA. She was taken from us too soon, but she was ready to go home. May God give her eternal joy and may she rest in peace in the presence of God's pure love.
