

Marlene Erika Cabais, 74, of Hesperia, California, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, with her family by her side. Marlene was born in Germany on February 22, 1949, to Rudolf and Erika. She was the sixth child among seven siblings. She moved to California in 1969. She became a devoted wife to Florentino Cabais, a beloved husband who preceded her in death. Together, they built a life of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
As a mother, Marlene was a source of boundless love and encouragement. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her two daughters, Marlene (Michael) Patterson and Martina (John) Timmons. Her guidance shaped their lives and instilled values of compassion, integrity, and resilience. Marlene's greatest joy came from being a grandmother. She adored all of her grandchildren, Victoria, Trevor, Scott, Erik, and Austin. She took immense pride in watching them grow and flourish. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent in their company.
Marlene's unwavering commitment to her family and friends has been a defining characteristic of her life. She was a pillar of strength and courage for all who knew her. She loved to laugh, dance, and listen to all types of music. She loved to collect angels, dolls, records, and shoes. All those who had the privilege of knowing Marlene will miss her dearly. Although she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched and the memories she created.
A mass for Marlene will be held Monday, March 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9974 I Avenue, Hesperia, CA 92345. Following the mass will be a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518. Reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal rescue near you.
