Melvin Francis Bond, known affectionately as ‘Skip’ to his friends and family, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 26, 2025. He was born in Kansas on 8/31/1935 to Leslie and Rosa Bond and was one of seven children, 5 of which have preceded him in death.
He loved his country and served overseas in the US Air Force. He was preceded in death by his wives Mele and Johanna and is survived by his son Peter Bond, daughter Leslie ‘Anne’ Westbrooks and her husband Sean, his son Chester Bond and his wife Carlene, two stepsons Van Wigington and his wife Darcy and Dane Wigington and his wife Jovida.
He is also survived by his grandson Brian Orr, his wife Myndi and their daughter Ellie, all of whom were a big part of his life along with 10 other grandchildren, Leah, Amber, Holly, Mathew, Dylan, Kristen, Adrianne, Aaron, Minga and Aris including several great grandchildren.
He actively attended Impact Christian Church in Victorville for more than 35 years, where he served as an Elder at the church for more than 20 years.
Though he is no longer with us physically, his love for us will endure until we see him again. John 5:25.
