Mr. Merle Lee Oles

Lee Oles passed away at 80 years old on November 5th 2014 in Apple Valley, Ca. Lee was born on Dec 4th 1933 in Fairmont, MN. He has been a resident of the High Desert for 21 years. Lee was a Manufacturing planning Engineer for two major Aerospace Companies, he was also a machinist for many years and had his own machine shop business called Turning Point. Lee belonged to the Our Lady of the Desert Catholic Church. He was proud to be a member of the Knights of Columbus where he had hoped to be involved in many ministries. He was also a member of the Apple Valley Senior Center. Lee loved God, his church, and spending time with his family. He once volunteered in recovery at St Mary's Hospital and loved helping people. He enjoyed writing poetry, wood burning, and traveling and morning coffee with his buddies. Lee leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 64 years Gayle Oles, Children, Robert Oles, (Kathleen Oles), Cindy Maag, and Kathy Trask.

There will be a viewing at Desert View Funeral Home, 11478 Amargosa Rd., in Victorville, Ca. 92392 on Tuesday, November 10th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of the Desert Catholic Church 18386 Corwin Rd Apple Valley Ca. on Tuesday November 11th at 10:00 am. There will be a reception at the church immediately after the Service and the Burial will follow.
