

Michael, or “Mike” as he was known, was born on September 23, 1945, in Upland CA to Niles and Ilene
Katt. He grew up in Ontario CA along with his 6 brothers and sisters. Mike is a 1964 graduate of Chaffey High School in Ontario CA. After completion of high school, he joined the United States Navy where he served from 1965-1969. He also served in the US Navy Reserves from 1969-1971 and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Mike was a skilled carpenter and the proud owner of Mikes Specialties, which specialized in cabinets and counter tops for both private homes and businesses. He truly loved his profession and the
business that he built from the ground up. Mikes Specialties served the Southern California area from 1974 until 2016 when he retired. Mike was an amazing person. He was a humble man with a grateful heart. Always thankful for the life he had. He was a family man, and never missed a birthday, dance recital, sports
game, or school event. Mike loved his family and friends and he made sure that everyone knew it. He had a hilarious sense of humor, and everyone always enjoyed his company. Mike will always hold a special place in our hearts, and he will be deeply missed.
Predeceased in death are Mikes parents Niles and Ilene Katt, his sister Betty Harris, his brother
Skip Katt, his sister Barbara Machado, and brother Scott Katt. He is survived by his sister Linda Pitts and
his brother Dennis Katt as well as his son Joseph and Carissa Katt, son Shannon and Tina Katt, and his
daughter Kristi and Shawn Holt. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, as
well as the littlest love of his life and best friend, his dog Sally.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Michael J. Katt at 10178 Buttemere Rd on
September 23, 2022, at 1 PM. A Military Funeral Honors Ceremony will be held promptly at 2 PM
followed by a service and eulogy.
