11/01/1958-07/25/2024
Pattie Lynch passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024 at the age of 65 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Pattie told one family member she was going to fight it like “the mean girl on the playground” and she did with grace and dignity.
Pattie was born in Inglewood California to John and Florence Lynch. Pattie’s birth began with an interesting story. While in labor late on the evening of Halloween Eve in 1958 the doctor asked her mom “Do you want a spook or a Saint?.” Her mom replied “A Saint” . Delivery was delayed till after midnight and Pattie was born on November 1st, All Saints Day.
Pattie lived in the South Bay Area and attended North Torrance High School and later worked for Thrifty Drug. In October of 1977 she took on the most important job of her life when she became a mother after the birth of her son Jason. Pattie was a great mom. She was firm but fair. Pattie took Jason on camping trips, outings to Disneyland and they played many, many games of Uno and Skipbo. She was very proud of Jason and his accomplishments in life, especially his graduation from UC Riverside-the only Lynch family member to graduate from college.
Pattie moved to Victorville in 2004 and started attending High Desert Church in 2005.She attended church classes to learn more about God and became a member of the church in 2009. She loved going to church, Bible study and Fellowship Classes and made many friends. She was very committed to learning more about God and shared that knowledge when she tutored kids at the church’s childcare. She attended and then led the church’s cancer support group at church. All the pastors that knew her loved her.
Pattie had many hobbies including quilting, crocheting, reading and playing cards with friends and family.
She loved to cook whether it was an old family recipe from the Lynch Family Cookbook that she put together or a new recipe. She had a funny, sarcastic quick wit that could have you chuckling in an instant. She was always thinking of others and had a kind and loving heart. She touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Pattie is survived by her son, Jason Lynch of Vista California, sister Marie Mullarkey (Jim) of Helena, Montana, brother Chris Lynch (Charlotte) of Gallatin, Tennessee and brother Larry Lynch (Stephanie) of Torrance, California.
At the request of Pattie no services are planned. The family wishes to thank the medical staff at Loma Linda University Medical Center and the many friends Pattie had at High Desert Church who provided care and support.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pattie’s honor to High Desert Church Attn: Mikey Powers 14545 Hook Blvd. Victorville, CA 92394 or Loma Linda University Cancer Center 11234 Anderson St.Suite A600 Loma Linda, CA 92354.
