

Roberta Anita Waldroupe, age 95, of Phelan CA went peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 31st 2017. Roberta was born September 5th 1922 in Omaha Nebraska to Mabel Anita Pike and William Robert Pike.
Roberta is survived by her daughters Carol Horton, Tere Coto and Victoria Vermillion; son Michael McGowan; 11 loving grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Waldroupe and her daughter Maureen Legg.
During WWII Roberta did her part to "support the boys” by driving a Streetcar in Omaha, a time in her life she was always incredibly proud of. She moved her family from Nebraska to Hawthorne, CA in 1951, and then with her husband to Phelan CA in 1999. An animal lover and avid quilter, over the years she made many beautiful blankets and quilts for her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, war movies, and spending time with her family.
Family visitation will be held on Sunday, November 19th 2017 from 12:00 PM to 2:00PM, followed by Funeral services at 2:00PM, and Graveside services at 3:00PM where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. All services will be held at Desert View Funeral Home, 11478 Amargosa Rd. Victorville, CA 92392. Immediately following the Graveside services there will be a reception to celebrate her life, the reception will also be located at the Funeral home.
