It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rogelio Hernandez, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend, who left us unexpectedly on February 7, 2025, at the age of 44. Born on March 3, 1980, in Lakeview Terrace, CA, to Celso and Maria Hernandez, Rogelio was one of 16 children in a large, close-knit family. He was raised with love, faith, and a strong sense of family values.
From a young age, Rogelio was a handful, yet always radiated joy, kindness, and a caring heart. He grew up looking up to his father, Celso, who became not only his role model but also his best friend. Together, they shared a bond that was unbreakable, often saying “Una y Mugre” as a testament to their closeness. Celso imparted lessons about faith, family, and the importance of dedicating Sundays to church and loved ones. This tradition was one that Rogelio carried throughout his life—honoring those values and passing them on to his own family.
In 2020, Rogelio’s world was shaken when his father, Celso, passed away. The loss of his best friend was deeply felt, but Rogelio found solace in knowing they would eventually be reunited. He often spoke of how he would patiently wait until he could once again be by his father’s side, continuing their bond in the afterlife.
Rogelio’s love story began with Meybelin, his next-door neighbor, and over time, their bond blossomed into a beautiful partnership. In 2012, they married and together built a loving home in Adelanto, CA, raising four children. Rogelio was a devoted father, showing tough love but always spoiling his children with care and dedication. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, never stopping in his pursuit to offer them a better life.
A man of many talents, Rogelio was a natural handyman, always eager to learn new skills and tackle any task that came his way. His passion for life extended far beyond work—he was an exceptional dancer and loved to share his moves with friends and family, lighting up every room with his infectious energy and spirit. A true sports enthusiast, Rogelio was a passionate fan of Chivas, often heard singing their anthem, “OLE OLE OLE Chivas,” or playfully yelling, “Chinge su Madre El America.” His enthusiasm for life and his love for the things he cared about was felt deeply by everyone who knew him.
Tragically, Rogelio’s life was cut short by a devastating accident. Though his time with us was brief, his legacy will live on through his wife, children, family, and friends. Rogelio’s memory will forever be cherished, and his life will continue to inspire all who loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Meybelin; their four children; his mother, Maria; and his many siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends. Rogelio, you will be dearly missed, but we find comfort in knowing you are now reunited with your father, your best friend. Rest in peace, until we meet again.
