I still remembered Roy, my kind & sweet coworker passed away abruptly one day as I was reading my work email; it shocked me until now.  
Life goes on, but I frequently thought of Roy; and I miss all the time everyday at work, sharing my green tea & chat with him.  From time to time, I talked by myself addressing to Roy: " Roy, you will always be missed by me.  Rest in peace my good friend."

I will deeply miss Roy's dry humor, his deep knowledge of sport facts as well as anything pertaining to writing, sharing his love of music (I was going to email him info about fractal music), his novel, and his ready smile!
I also appreciated that he continued to support our Caltrans Communicators Toastmasters Club even though we disagreed about evaluation style...

Like Dick, Vinita and Donnie, I was a high school classmate of Roy's.  I fondly remember summer pickup basketball games at the Hartmans.  Roy always told me he was a better basketball player than I was and he was correct.

I and Vinita were high school classmates of Roy's.  We are very sad to hear of his passing.  Roy was one of kind.  We have very fond memories of Roy and are thankful to have been able to see him in later years at recent high school reunions.  What a memory he had!  Our condolences to his family and friends.

As a former Caltrans District 8 employee I knew Roy for many years, we worked briefly together on various projects. Roy was always such a gentleman, and so very knowledgeable. It was always a pleasure to engage with him.

Roy was a very kind man. He always acknowledged me and had a way of making everyone feel special and was always upbeat.  I have missed seeing him smile, since he retired.  Rest peacefully.

Roy's death came as a shock and forever will be remembered by me. He was a good friend and a coworker whom I admired at the office and I also had the pleasure to play softball with.

Roy was always very nice to me at work and always said Hello with a smile.  I very nice person to know.  My condolences and prayers are with his family.

 The memories I have of you are dear to me.  Although we both moved away from
 Kansas, those adolescent memories followed us into adulthood.  Twas always a pleasure to have you & Sally,  visit me & my wife, Marjorie, at our home in Las Vegas, NV.  Now, our children reside here. The years flew by, but our friendship remained constant.  We were only a phone call away.  My brother, I know your family will remain blessed. A renaissance man with a brilliant mind but more important, a sweet soul and a passionate heart.  We are grateful that Roy found us again and reconnected a few years ago. We had hopes of spending more time with him and Sally after retirement and so we are bereft, but still how lucky are we that we have old memories of shinning youth and newer memories of wisdom and contentment to cherish. Sally Jack King  we send our love and condolences, you were his one true love and soulmate,  and Kerry, you were his abiding joy, the light of his life. RIP Roy, you are missed.

It was my very great pleasure to know Roy for these last 32 years. I will miss his humor and intellect. My thoughts are with his family.

Fond memories growing up and spending summer time with Roy and cousins at Aunt Katherine’s. Going swimming, playing in the big back yard, Ft.Worth zoo, sleeping on the back screened in porch, and fishing at times with Uncle Frank. Roy’s dry humor was just that. A musical genius. Roy was always willing to lend a helping hand to those around him, always willing to share his knowledge, encouraged others whether it was in performing their work, playing a game of basketball, or checking their report for grammatical errors, writing techniques, etc. 
He had an amazing memory when describing historical sporting events  down to the players' names, number of seconds left on the clock, and a detailed  sequence of events during the particular play. 
Roy also had a special interest in all the rivers flowing through the US, almost every morning he would check the amount of flow for some of the larger rivers and would get excited if the number was large after a major storm event. After one of his long road trips to Texas, and then up North to Canada, he brought us a bunch of photos he took during his trip, I did not find him in any of the pictures, almost all of them were from some  river he came across along the way. 
His knowledge and sense of humor will be missed by many who knew him, competed, or worked with him.

I am shocked and saddened  by the news of Roy's passing. We played Basketball a few years ago together and Roy is a loss to all.

I'm sad to recall the good old time when you are no longer here with us; but I'm really glad to have known you in those few years and poured you some green tea daily to calm down your coughing.

Your name will not be forgotten for being a professional engineer with a depth of knowledge, especially in Hydraulic.  I'm proud of you Roy, and again I am very glad to have a friend like you.

I have many fond memories of pleasant and upbeat greetings from Roy, morning, afternoon or evening ... whenever we encountered each other at work.
I knew that he was a bright, knowledgeable and well-travelled individual, not from him speaking about himself, but instead, from the interest he showed of my work and life, as well as his insightful comments during project meetings.
I was happy to call him a friend and I missed him after he retired.
