With heavy hearts and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we celebrate the life and legacy of Sallie B. Jones, who was born on January 1, 1951, in Needles, California, to John Rogers and Willie Fae Rogers. Sallie was the cherished fifth of six children, growing up surrounded by the love and strength of family.
In 1974, Sallie met the love of her life, Edward C. Jones, in Pasadena, California. Their meeting began a beautiful journey of love, faith, partnership, and devotion that would span over more than 50 years. Together they built a home centered on God, family, and compassion for others.
Sallie leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving husband, Edward C. Jones; her children, Edward C. Jones Jr., Michelle Pleasant, and Stephanie Anderson; and her beloved grandchildren: Marquis Jolley, Brandon Jolley, Edward C. Jones III, Arionne Jones, Asiané Williams, and Jaylon Brown.
Later in life, Sallie lovingly opened her heart and home by adopting Crystal Jones, Andrea Jones, and Alyssia Jones, raising and loving them as her own children. Family meant everything to Sallie, and she made sure everyone who entered her life felt seen, valued, and loved.
Anyone who knew Sallie knew she was a loving, kind, and sweet person. She was always helping others, whether through her work, her friendships, or simply opening her home to those in need and making them feel welcome. Her heart was generous, and her compassion came naturally.
Sallie wore many hats throughout her life and excelled in many roles. She served as a Supervisor for the United States Postal Service, worked as a real estate agent, cared for mentally challenged individuals, and pursued entrepreneurship by owning and operating her own daycare facility and senior home facility. In between these accomplishments, Sallie touched countless lives through her dedication, service, and unwavering work ethic.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. Sallie was a faithful member of Friendly Temple C.O.G.I.C., later becoming a member of Abundant Living Family Church High Desert. She was a devout Christian whose love for Christ was evident in her daily walk. Sallie always placed God first, then her family, and lived according to the purpose and calling God placed upon her life.
Sallie was a hard worker, a nurturer, and a woman with a heart so big that her love poured out effortlessly to everyone around her. She touched countless lives and will be missed dearly by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
Though our hearts grieve her absence, we find comfort and peace in God's promises. Because Sallie knew our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for herself and lived according to His purpose and plan, we rejoice in knowing that she is not gone forever, but alive with Him in glory.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7
Forever loved. Forever remembered.
