Elizabeth: I loved whenever we would be eating at the table, Grandma Salome would walk around the table and bless each one of us on our forehead. 

Chloe: Grandma Salome loved watching butterflies and dragon flies with me out of her bedroom window with me. 

Miranda: I loved how Grandma Salome would watch the hummingbirds from her bedroom window. I wish we could still watch them together. 

Salome asked me if I wanted the last waffle.  Of course I did.  She made them and said she will have two and I will have one.  We both laughed about that.  Salome was always kind, sharing, and joyful.  She will be forever loved and missed.

I’ll never forget the first time that I met Salome. 
Gera and I had just come back to his house from a date and we were sitting on the couch just talking and having the TV on in the background. His Mom walked out of her room and into the dining area where she saw both of us chatting. Gera looked up, smiled his Mom, looked at me and smiled even bigger and I knew he wanted me to meet his mom then and there. 
I remember thinking to myself that girlfriends don’t shake hands; girlfriends hug. 
As Gera was bringing me over to meet his Mom, I immediately hugged her.  She hugged back and even held me for a bit longer. Afterwards, I just watched as this big smile came across Salome’s face and she lit up; she was looking at Gera and I knew in my heart that she knew Gera was happy. 
That’s all she needed was to see his smile. 

My grandmother was a very kind and warm hearted woman. She always made sure that my siblings, cousins and I were all happy. Whether it was by cooking us food, taking us to fast food restaurants/stores or just spending quality time with us. She was the soul of the family especially on Christmas eve nights or family gatherings when she made her amazing tamales. One memory I will have in particular of my Grandma is when she always took me as a kid to the salvation army buying me kid stuff like toys and stuffed animals. She supplied me with love and joy as a kid and I'm glad I could experience a kindhearted grandmother who showed how much she cared for her family. As I'm writing this I now realize how nothing in life is certain and that you should appreciate every big or little thing in your life while you still have it.

When I was a kid I would always throw these tantrums when I would go to school. I always had been very standoffish when I went to school because I would miss my grandma dearly. I would cry because I missed my grandma every day when I would go to school. 

Recently, I had just started my first year at UC Riverside, my grandma had been crying when I was leaving. She had told me "Look who is the one crying now as I leave you at school." 

I still remember every single memory I had with my grandmother. I miss her dearly and I will continue on missing her. Te amo mucho, mi corazón. Te extraño mucho. 

I was So Lucky to have her in my life an Amazing soul, I was blessed beyond measures. Remembering the hardest moments of my life she was there to guide me to  console me, She made me whole again.  When I think of my Grandma She was everything beautiful on this earth. She never judged she was an humanitarian, when she saw someone in need she helped them down to her last pennies. I wish I could tell you How Amazing She was, How Beautiful she was The person she was, She would enter a room and  instantly light it up with her beautiful smile, She will forever be an Angel Gorgeous as she was, Is  reunited with her creator our Lord Jesus Christ. Her Love  is  Eternal for All of Us. I love you Grandma Always and Forever.

The compassion I share with every patient that I care for as a Family Physician comes from this beautiful woman I have the honor of calling Mom!  For 18 years of my life she poured in her heart and soul to raising me to become the person I am today.  That same love I use to help raise 3 children with my beautiful wife.  I always think of her when I cook a delicious meal for them because everybody knows Momma H loved cooking great meals for her kids!  Thank you my sweet mom, I love  you forever!
