

Sandra Kay Masqua member of the Kickapoo tribe of Kansas passed from this world and joined the spirits of her family and ancestors on January 21, 2025. Preceding her to heaven were her parents Nathaniel Masqua and Franceline Keesis Masqua, brothers Raymond and Danny, and one sister Charmaine. Surviving family are sisters Dawn Masqua of Mayetta, KS, Annie Masqua of Topeka, KS and nieces Tosha Wilson and Danielle Wahwassuk and nephew William Wilson.
Sandra grew up in and around Powhattan, KS. She graduated from Hiawatha High School and worked at the Brown County Sheltered Workshop in Hiawatha, Ks. In 1988, she moved with her foster mother Donna Parks to Victorville, CA. She became an active member of the Victorville United Methodist Church. She volunteered as a teaching aide in a local elementary school, worked in sheltered assignments at Payless Drug, Target, and Del Taco. Eventually she became a sheltered employee of the Vocational Improvement Program in Hesperia, CA.
After retirement she attended the BEST Day Program in Hesperia, CA.
She loved to travel. Whether by car across country or by ship to Alaska and through the Panama Canal.
Sandra was a socializer. She won numerous trophies at bowling and she participated in sqaure dancing with the Blue Jays. She loved having friends in for parties and games; Farkle, Skip Bo, Uno, and Mexican Train were her favorites. Her hobbies were making greeting cards, working jigsaw puzzles, and working seek-a-word puzzles.
A celebration of Sandra's life will be held Saturday, March 8 at 1:00 p.m. at the Victorville United Methodist Church.
