Shirley Ann Loescher

Shirley Ann Whitacre Loescher, 93, of Victorville, CA, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am at Desert View Funeral Home, 11478 Amargosa Road, Victorville, CA. Graveside services will follow at Desert View Memorial Park.

Shirley was born on April 2, 1932, to Earl C. Whitacre and Mildred R. (McMaster) Whitacre in Elyria, OH, graduating from Elyria High School.

Shirley married Edwin H. Loescher on April 12, 1952, in Elyria, OH. They lived in Elyria until 1956 when they moved to Rapid City, SD. In 1960 they moved to Upland, CA, and then moved to Victorville in 1982. Shirley and Ed were married for 71 years until Ed passed on November 26, 2023. They were both preceded in death by their son Eddie Loescher who passed on June 9, 2019.

Shirley is survived by her daughters Debra (Karlye) Kalkowski of Grand Island, NE, and Jody (Russell) Hall of Victorville. Her sons Michael (Lynne) Loescher of Twain, CA; David (Sheila Wilson) Loescher of Callao, VA; Terry (Barbara) Loescher of Hesperia; and Kevin (Truely) Loescher of Boise, ID. 6 granddaughters Julie (Jeff) Gerlach of Mabank, TX; Jennifer (David) Forsberg of Granite Springs, NY; Kelsea Loescher of Carlsbad; Heather (Bernard) Molina of Victorville; Kristine (Pheng) Uy of Hesperia, and Sierra Loescher of Boise, ID. 7 grandsons Steven Loescher of Twain, CA; Kash (Jamie) Kalkowski of Grand Island, NE; Corey Loescher of Crestline; Allen (Cleo) Loescher of Hesperia; Josh (Jess) stationed in Tokyo, Japan; Jeremy Loescher of Sacramento, and Bodie Loescher of Daytona Beach, FL. 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-granddaughters; sisters-in-law Edith Schaffer, Norma Uehlin and Diane Whitacre, and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was also preceded in death by her parents Earl and Mildred Whitacre; in-laws Harold and Sabina Loescher; brother Gary Whitacre, brothers-in-law Donald Loescher and Bob Schaffer, and sisters-in-law Karen Gulliksen and Sally Burgett.
