Susan Elaine Whitney-Jimenez, lovingly known as “Sue” to family and friends, passed away surrounded by the love and memories of those who cherished her most. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend, Sue leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, strength, and unconditional love.
Sue grew up in North Long Beach, California, where some of her happiest childhood memories were made alongside her grandfather at Los Alamitos Racetrack. As a young girl, she was thrilled by the excitement of the races and would dream to herself, “One day I will have a horse of my own to race.” Later in life, that dream came true — a reflection of her determined spirit and lifelong love of horseracing.
She later made her home in Garden Grove, California, where she raised her beautiful daughter, Jennifer, whom she loved deeply and proudly. Eventually, Sue settled in the High Desert, where she worked for the telephone company until her retirement. Through every chapter of her life, she brought kindness, humor, and heart to everyone around her.
Sue enjoyed disco dancing, country music, horseracing, cooking, and spending time with her beloved dogs. In later years, she found joy watching DIY channels and sharing ideas and projects with those she loved. She was a beloved Grandma, Mother, Daughter, and Wife.
Sue will always be remembered for her loving heart, strong spirit, and the deep devotion she showed her family. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer and her son-in-law Larry, granddaughters Olivia and Lauren, husband Alvaro, along with many family members and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
God, our Creator, had a plan for Sue — to be loved and free — and now she has returned to Him and to the loved ones who went before her. We will cherish her memory for eternity.
This is not goodbye; it is only until tomorrow, when we meet again.
We love you always, Sue.
