

John Dale Staley, 83, of Vincennes, passed away Sunday June 26, 2011 in Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born in Vincennes on June 22, 1928 to the late Leon and Ethel Edna (Wampler) Staley and had lived in Bicknell for several years before returning to live in Vincennes. John was a Navy veteran of WW II and was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Moose Lodge and the American Legion. He was retired from the Bicknell Street Department.
John leaves behind 2 daughters, Jeanette (Mark) Pavitt and Debbie (Steve Neighbors) Emmons both of Vincennes, 4 grandchildren, Jason Steele, Corrie Murphy, Rick Emmons and Misty Hume and 7 great grandchildren, Destiny, Seth and Savannah Murphy, Makayla and Cohn Hume, Page and Chase Emmons.
He was preceeded in death by his wife, Wilma Kelley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday June 30, 2011 at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home 505 Main Street. The Rev. Jay Howder will officiate. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by the All Weather Firing Squad. Friends are invited to visit and sahare memories of John with the family on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home.
