Mildred Earla Mattingly Stout

Earla graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Vincennes University where she majored in bookkeeping and business administration. She was the former owner/operator of Earla's Pet Shop on Second Street here in Vincennes and was an avid animal lover. She bread and raised parakeets and banta chickens as well as fish. She a former member and sunday school teacher at St. John's United Church of Christ and was a former girl scout leader in Chicago.

Earla is survived by her husband, Patrick M. Stout whom she married July 7, 1958 in Vincennes. She is also survived by her daughter, Judi Mumper of Chicago, a son Gerald Douglas Stout of Peninsula, OH, daughter in law, Diane Stout of Peninsula, OH, 2 granddaughters, Pauline Kristen Stout of Chicago and Emily Anne Stout of Peninsula, OH and a grandson, John Patrick Stout of Crystal Lake, IL. Earla was preceeded in death by her only sibling, Judy Gray of Vincennes in 2007.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home 505 Main Street. The Rev. Dr. Kate Lambertson will officiate. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit and share memories of Earla with the family on Thursday from Noon until the service time at the funeral home.
