Barbara Ann Rumery, 82, of Vinton, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Barbara was born on April 24, 1942 to Louis and Hazel Laughlin. Barbara was the Director of the Vinton Senior Center and loved to help others. She enjoyed playing the Lotto, scratch offs, slots and watching the game show channel. She loved her animals, but most of all she loved her family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne Rumery; her parents; and brother, Andrus "Mann" Laughlin.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mark Wayne Rumery and wife, Maribeth of Vinton and Philip Todd Rumery and wife, Deborah of Meridian, Mississippi; grandchildren, Philip Rumery, Samantha Daughtry, Allison Rumery and Ben Rumery; great-grandchildren, Kadyn, Kameron, Brantley, Karson, Andrew, and Cohen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Hixson Celebrant Jody Tyler will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, August 6th in the funeral home. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at 8 am until time of service. Burial will be at Forest Lawn in Beaumont, Texas.
The family would like to thank Stonebridge Assisted Living Center and Heart of Hospice for their care of Mrs. Barbara over the past year.
