Billy James Broussard gained his wings on June 11, 2026, at the age of 89. He was a lifelong resident of Vinton, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a U.S. Army veteran. Billy was a man strong in his faith, serving as a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Vinton. He had a love of History and all things Biblical, and enjoyed traveling, fishing, and tending to his fruit trees. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and helping anyone who needed it.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Eunice and Eslie "Bill" Broussard; and brother, Lonell Broussard.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 66 years, Mollie; children: Mark Broussard and wife, Bonnie of Baytown, Texas; Carl Broussard of Vinton; Duane Broussard of Vinton; Chad Broussard and wife, Sheri of Hernando, Mississippi; and Pamela Moore of Destin, Florida. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren: Matthew, Madeleine, Brandon, Karlie, Kara, Savannah, Preston, Jacey, Austin, Dylan, Tyler and Allison; and 2 great-grandchildren: Aaliyah and Axell.
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Monday, June 15, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Vinton. Dr. Mark Broussard will officiate; along with Bro. Larry Davis and Bro. Ray Wells. The family will receive guests starting at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Big Woods Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark, Carl, Duane and Chad Broussard, Tyler Moore, Paul Duhon and Guy Renfrow; Honorary Pallbearers Brandon Broussard, Dylan Duplechain, Austin Duplechain and Preston Broussard.
