

Billy, a native of Thornton, Texas, has resided in Vinton for 51 years. He began working with his father-in-law in 1962 at Vinton Repair Shop and later owned & operated Vinton Hardware for 28 years. In 1972, Billy started his trucking company, Stinson Enterprises.
He has been a member of Welsh Memorial United Methodist Church for over 51 years, a lifetime member of the Vinton Masonic Lodge 364, Vinton Lions Club, and a past member of Habbi Temple Shriners. Billy was very active in community affairs and has served as an Executive director of the Vinton Housing Authority, Gravity Drainage District 2 Ward 7 Commissioner, a member of the West Calcasieu Association of Commerce and most recently as the President of the Resident Council of Holly Hill.
Billy enjoyed playing cards, bingo and was very serious about his game of dominos. He loved traveling, telling jokes and stories, and trivia.
Survivors include his three sons, Kenneth O. Stinson and wife Linda, Richard A. Stinson and wife Amy, and Donald R. Stinson and wife Monica, all of Vinton; grandchildren, Jessica Gayle Morrow and husband Alex, Leslie Veitch and husband Randy, Donovan Sampson Stinson and wife Summer, Amy Danielle Bickham and husband Brennan, Dane Shoemaker, and Johnathon Shoemaker; and great grandchildren, Keelynd, Kynslee, Keller, Kasen, Myles, Brady, Kaydence, Daylynn, Justin, Haylee and Jaxon.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Burnard and Lena Stinson; and his wife of 43 years, Norma Lee LeBoeuf Stinson

His funeral will be at 10 am Tuesday, November 4, in Welsh Memorial United Methodist Church. The Rev. Roger Templeton will officiate. Burial will follow in Big Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the church on Monday, 4 - 8 pm and resume Tuesday at 8 am until time of service.
