Carolyn Sue Vice Trahan, 76, gained her wings on Monday, May 25, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Ville Platte on April 4, 1950 to Leon and Lydia Vice. She was a resident of Vinton and known to most as Sue.
Sue will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection by all who had the privilege to know her. Her honesty, kind heart, and generous spirit shaped the way she lived—quietly, faithfully, and with a selfless care that put others at ease and made them feel valued.
Sue shared 59 years of marriage with her husband, Paul. She was a true matriarch, who devoted her life to her family. She found joy in the simple, meaningful moments in life, like savoring her cup of coffee and smokes, cooking for those she loved, fishing, crabbing, and days spent at the beach. She especially loved watching her grandchildren’s various sporting events, showing up with the kind of steadfast support that spoke louder than words.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Paul Trahan; children: Scotty Trahan Sr. and wife Hope of Iowa, Sammy Trahan and wife, Delicia, Shaun Trahan (Ashley), Kacey Fenetz and husband, Jude and Leslie Trahan, all of Vinton. Sue also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Sue was preceded in death by and now reunited with her parents; and siblings: Leon Vice, Alphe Vice, Helen Bahnsen and Maryann Vice.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Pastor Gerard Little will officiate. Burial will follow at Big Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home Friday, May 29, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and will resume on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service.
