Curtis was a prankster, known to some as "Super Chicken." He enjoyed picking at people and was always a fun time. He was the nicest man and never met a stranger. Above everything else he was a Godly man who went out of his way to help others. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Vinton.
He worked as a manager for several different water companies including the City of Vinton, Calcasieu Parish and statewide. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and in his younger years he also liked to go duck hunting. Most of all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and loved spending time surrounded by his loved ones.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 45 years, Ellen Edgar; his sons, Adam Edgar and wife, Kristen and Andrew Edgar and wife, Jennifer; his brother, Nathan Edgar; his sisters, Marie Edgar and Betty Edgar; his grandchildren, Skylar Edgar, Olivia Edgar, and Taylor Stanley; his sister-in-law, Susan Walker and husband, Jerry; as well as other extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Rebecca Edgar; his brother, James Edgar; and his sister, Becky Edgar.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Vinton, on November 4, 2026 with a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm. Pastor Larry Davis will officiate. Burial will be at Big Woods Cemetery. Those honored to be pallbearers are: Chris Bond, Taylor Stanley, Frank Courmier, Doug Medford, Jacob Brown and Haley Bellard.
The family would like to give special thanks to The Guardian, Resthaven Nursing Home, Brighton Bridge Hospice, First Baptist Church of Vinton and all of Curtis's doctors and caregivers.
