Cynthia built a life marked by steady devotion to others, expressed through a caring spirit and a truly big-hearted nature. Those who knew her also recognized the strength in her presence—at times feisty, but always sincere—qualities that left a lasting impression on family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to be within her circle.
A registered nurse, Cynthia dedicated her working life to the service of others, offering not only skill and professionalism, but also the kind of compassion that cannot be taught. Her commitment to care was evident in the way she took care of others, with patience, dignity, and a generous heart.
Cynthia’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children: Nora and Marvin Oden, and she was preceded in death by her son, John Oden III. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kasandra Butts, Kimberly Butts, and Lillyann Winborn, as well as 5 great-grandchildren.
In her younger years, Cynthia enjoyed bowling, a pastime that reflected her lively energy. Throughout her life, she especially loved spending time with family, valuing togetherness and the simple, meaningful bonds that endure.
Cynthia was also passionate about animal rescue, extending her compassion beyond people and into the wider community with quiet dedication and concern for those who could not speak for themselves.
