Danny Ray Young Jr., 47, of Vinton, passed away on April 9th, 2021 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. He was born on November 16th, 1973 to his parents, Danny & Rose Young in Sulphur.

Danny was a 1991 graduate of Vinton High School. He proudly served his country in The United States Marines Corps and The United States Coast Guard Reserve. He served two deployments in Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Danny worked for Apache Industrial Services as a Site Safety Manager. He previously worked for the Vinton Police Dept. and Sulphur Fire Dept. Danny was a loving father to Tanner and Taylor and a great son, brother and friend to all who knew him. To all who knew him, you would NEVER forget him. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton and also attended St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss. One of Danny's most cherished things to do was watching and coaching Tanner on the baseball field and Taylor playing soccer! He will be remembered for his BIG heart, stubbornness, kind soul, wittiness, and his contagious personality that always made people smile. His patriotism and love for his country was never in doubt. He was a huge encouragement to kids and anyone he was around. There is at least one “Danny story” that will be cherished forever with his family and friends!

Those left to cherish his memory are his two children, Tanner and Taylor Young of Sulphur; his loving mother, Rose Young of Carlyss; his sister, Michele Young Landry and Trey Mills of Carlyss; his nephew, Caleb Landry; his grandmother, Mae "MeeMaw" Moleski; his aunt , JoJo Monfils and husband Ray; aunt, Donna Emmons; uncle, Tommy Young and wife Dana; uncle, Terry Young and wife Lila; mother of his children, Tracey A. I know we all must go at some point, but man...this one hurts.

Danny and I grew up together, our babies graduated together, and we share some of my favorite memories. We weren’t the kind of friends that talked everyday, but our friendship never wavered. I cannot think of a single conversation we had that didn’t involve laughing, of course fussing and cussing each other, and always ending with “I love you.” When I got sick last year he called and said “babygirl, we are gonna get through this. We all got you.” And he really did have me. He showed up without being asked and just started working and doing. He was that special kind of soul that had absolutely no idea he was special.

Danny, I wish I could tell you how proud of you I am, and how much you mean to me. I will never forget you, and will love you forever.

Rest In peace sweet soul, and may the perpetual light shine upon you.

Ms. Rose, Michele, Tanner, Taylor, Tracey, and family/friends - my heart and prayers are with you. May God bring us all peace and comfort in knowing he is in a much better place.

PS...this picture was from my benefit tournament. Man, he worked his a%* off that day. I cannot share what he just said here, nor my response to him 😂😭💔❤️
