

She was born in Jennings and had been a resident of Vinton for the last 11 years, coming from Kaplan. Fannie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Patricia McKinnon Netherland and husband, Henry of Silsbee, Texas and Elizabeth McKinnon Brooks and husband, Jeff of Bridge City, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Thelma Foster and husband, Dwight of Vinton; a brother, Alex Benoit and wife, Helen of Nederland, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Mindie Netherland, Daniel Netherland, Cameron Brooks, Chandler Brooks, and Callen Brooks. She is preceded in death by Clarence McKinnon; her son, Robert Paul McKinnon; a great-grandson, Nathan Emmanuel Brooks; two brothers, E.C. Bourgeois and Clophus Benoit; and two sisters, Elizabeth Hebert and Mary Leger.
Her funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Monday with a rosary service at 6 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
