Some of Irma's hobbies included: quilting which she was famous for along with baking pecan pies, watching basketball, and working as a Pony Girl at the racetrack. She was a true horsewoman and absolutely loved the horse racing industry and developed a huge love for the breeders world as well. Most of all, her family was her world, and she loved them very much.
She is survived by her children, Sylvia Rentz (Joey), Pamela Lyles, and Mike Lyles (Lisa) all of Vinton, Louisiana; sister, Mary Hester Skelton of Holly Springs, Mississippi; stepmother, Mary Astor Skelton of Holly Springs, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Stephanie N. East (Jamie), Logan M. Lyles (Shaunna), Lincoln Lyles (Emmanuela); four great grandchildren, Landen East, Lawsen Lyles, Norah Jo Lyles, and Amadeo Lyles Veraldi; three step grandchildren, Charles Meaux (Brooke), Cody Meaux (Samantha), and Tyler Sonnier (Madison); along with ten step great grandchildren, C.J., Hayden, Cooper, Grayson, Graham, Georgia, Amelia, Melina, Sawyer, and Harrison.
Irma is preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Charles Walker Lyles; her parents; along with two brothers, Clifton Skelton and Stephen Lee Skelton.
A Celebration of Irma's life will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Vinton, Louisiana on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 11:00 am, with Bro. Rob Tibbitts officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, beginning at 9:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery (Big Woods) in Edgerly, Louisiana.
