Jamie was a devoted husband, father and pawpaw. He shared 40 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Perri Cormier. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and simple joys.
He worked as an oil field manager, traveling all over the world, but no matter where his work took him, his heart was always at home with his family. Known for his humor and kind spirit, Jamie was a simple, selfless man who never met a stranger. He loved his music, cherished his girls, and adored his grandchildren.
In his free time, you could often find Jamie driving around town with his dog, Gizzard, visiting with family over morning coffee, or simply spending time with the people he loved most. Those everyday moments meant everything to him.
He leaves behind his four daughters: Jamie Sonier and husband Raymond, Shannon Condos and husband John, Britny Hoffpauir and husband Nathaniel, and Haley Berg and husband Josh. He was a proud pawpaw to eleven grandchildren—Chiara, Kelcie, William, Conner, Chloe, Carson, Caden, Avery, Lilly, Joanie, and Macie—and three great-grandchildren, Braighlyn, Harley, and Isaiah. He also leaves behind his siblings: Gail Dougharty, Marilyn Martin and husband Larry, Glenn Cormier and wife Crystal, Howard Cormier and wife Dona and sister-in-law Connie Cormier, all of whom he loved deeply.
Jamie was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Alice Cormier; his little brother, Mark Cormier; his older brother, Kenneth Cormier; and his brother-in-law, Preston Dougharty.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Lake Charles Care Center in Lake Charles for their exceptional care and compassion. A heartfelt thank you is also extended to James Bradley, who became a dear friend, and to Perri’s sister Karen for her unwavering support and love throughout this journey.
Jamie will be deeply missed by his wife, his girls and all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of love, laughter, kindness, and strength will live on through his family.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Emmanuel Baptist Church under the direction of Pastor Gerard Little. Visitation will begin at 9 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Big Woods Cemetery.
